In a wide, packed place full of dumbbells, kettlebells on the floor on one side, along with kickboxing gloves and sand bags on another side, female weightlifters and kickboxers hustling from one place to the other at full strength with piercing eyes. Which was not specifically their thing, before. But then it did!
With the rising of workout areas, CrossFit & Kickboxing centers, and the rising interest in women’s diverse sports for the past two years, women started challenging themselves for a healthier lifestyles and discovering what awaits them out of their comfort zones, achieving milestones in what they never imagined they could, Heavy Sports!
For years, women have been avoiding heavy weights and sports, being told by society that this is not where they belong, that lifting weights, kicking some punches and building some muscles – being afraid of becoming “too bulky” - is not the room where girls should be in and it is only a place for men. Only then, females started to change their own perspective about themselves and actually unleashing their inner passion while discovering their own capabilities, and what their bodies are capable of outside their “told” restricted boundaries.
In fact, with the growing places of physical work out centers, females’ motivation attracted them to changer their own perception their old false notions, taking a revolutionary act against society stereotypes and discover their hidden passion towards weightlifting, kickboxing, rowing and much more high intensity work outs.
Do you know what’s the best part that encouraged females for a better lifestyle? Is that these sports don’t associate with a certain gender, body type, or age.
Lastly, I believe that the growing achievements of women’s sports and female athletes, with the increasing interest of them accomplishing the best they can do while setting proof of their capabilities, demonstrates that… You do not have to be a male or female to achieve something you love!
